2.  Andaman Lanta Resort  Koh Lanta  1,500-2,700 THB

Location
This small fishing town, the capital of beautiful Krabi province, has an important role as the ferry embarkation points for islands such as Ko Lanta to the south, Ko Phi Phi to the southwest, and the beaches around Ao Nang to the west. Set on the banks of the Krabi Estuary, the town takes its name from a sword, or krabi, allegedly discovered nearby. It is surrounded by towering limestone outcrops, similar to those in Phangnga Bay (where the famous James Bond island is situated), which have become the symbol of Krabi province. To the east the town is flanked by mangrove-lined shorelines. These outcrops and mangroves can be toured by renting a long-tailed boat

Climate
Weather in Krabi is typically that of the tropical monsoon, providing the province with just two seasons, the hot season from January to April, and the rainy season from May to December. Monsoon winds, which change according to season, blow from the southeast, the southwest, and the northeast. Temperatures range between 16.9 and 37.3 degrees Celsius and the yearly rainfall averages 2,568.5 millimeters.

History
Krabi is a southern province on Thailand's Andaman seaboard with perhaps the country's oldest history of continued settlement. After dating stone tools, ancient coloured pictures, beads, pottery and skeletal remains found in the province's many cliffs and caves, it is thought that Krabi has been home to homo sapiens since the period 25,000 - 35,000 B.C. In recorded times it was called the 'Ban Thai Samor', and was one of twelve towns that used, before people were widely literate, the monkey for their standard. At that time, c. 1200 A.D., Krabi was tributary to the Kingdom of Ligor, a city on the Kra Peninsula's east coast better known today as Nakhon Si Thammarat.

History
Phi Phi Islands famed as among the most beautiful tropical islands of the world and has become one of the most popular tourist attractions of Thailand. Phi Phi The name is derived from Malay, and the original was Pulao Pi ah Pi, where in pulao is the Malay word for island, and pi pronounced with only a half p sound, was very close in pronunciation to the English word be; the ah was eventually dropped, so the name was said something like Bi Bi. Later the p was pronounced with a stronger aspiration and the name became the Phi Phi or Pee Pee we know today. The name refers to the mangrove wood found there. Six islands are in the group: Koh Phi Phi Don, Koh Phi Phi Ley, Koh Biddah Nok, Koh Biddah Nai, Koh Yoong, and Koh Pair total area is 42 square kilometers. They were incorporated into the national park in 1983.
