Eastbourne
Eastbourne is a very safe and popular resort on the south coast of England with a population of over 90,000. It is famous for its coastline and cliffs and the many places of cultural and historical interest in the picturesque surrounding countryside. Shopping facilities in Eastbourne are among the best on the south coast, with a large indoor shopping center, a weekly outdoor market and the Eastbourne Enterprise Center full of small individual shops. Eastbourne theatres offer different programmes of plays, ballet, opera and varity shows. There are cinemas, nightclubs, museums, an art gallery plus a wide range of sporting facilities available including an indoor swimming complex, gums, tennis courts, golf courses, driving ranges, windsurfing and sailing schools, bowling greens and indoor halls. The International Ladies Tennis Championships are held at Devonshire Park each June.
